All successful candidates will be automatically logged via Street Works Qualifications Register (SWQR).
Candidates will then be issued with the Smart Awards certificate and SQA Street Works approved licence.

Street Works Re-assessment’s will take place within our Assessment Room at our head offices based in West Bromwich. Re-assessment candidates will complete theory examination’s for each unit held on their current NRSWA licence.
Should any additional units be required that are NOT currently listed on their NRSWA licence, then these should be added on via our Street Works Full Course.
Please note, there is no practical training within a Re-assessment Course.

The New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) sets out the procedures and guidelines for personnel employed by local authorities, utilities companies and their contractors for the purpose of any road works in the highway or on footpaths. The Act and associated Codes of Practice cover issues such as, the notification requirements, safety to highway users and the standards required of the reinstatement of all excavations on the highway, standards for signing, lighting and guarding, etc.
Training courses for NRSWA will cover one or more unit’s dependent on requirements.
Anyone wishing to renew their current valid NRSWA licence.
